Bunsen Burner

"You Build it, We Burn it"

At BASF, we partner with our customers to bring innovative solutions to the wire and cable markets. We have developed in-house testing capabilities to support product development, improve success with pre-evaluations of new products with flame testing, and reduce overall development costs for our customers.

Overview of Testing Capabilities

  • Testing and evaluation of existing products and new, developmental, materials.
  • Analysis of cable jacketing materials and finished cables.
  • Certification testing - Budd Lake is a UL DAP accredited laboratory so results can be used for UL listing.
  • Global test standards - test to both EU and NA standards (ASTM, UL, ISO, IEC).
  • Cone Calorimeter for FR - this test is the most recognized bench scale test for flame retardant evaluation.
  • Patrella Plots from Peak Heat Release Rate (PHRR) and Total Heat Release (THR).

Accreditations

BASF is a certified Underwriters Laboratory DAP (Data Acceptance Program) lab. We have UL94 (HB, V2, V1, V0, 5VA and 5VB), Tensile, Impact and RTI testing in our scope of accreditation. This means UL will accept our data from these mentioned tests, which saves our customers money.
